Progress is looking good

WILLIAMSBURG — Several construction projects are taking shape on the east side of Clermont County, and one of the most anticipated is the new indoor youth facility being built by the Williamsburg Junior Athletic Association (WJAA).

The WJAA, a nonprofit organization serving the Williamsburg community since 1980, recently began construction on its newest sports complex. The indoor facility will expand recreational opportunities for local youth and feature state-of-the-art indoor courts along with updated accommodations for athletes, staff, and volunteers.

Contributions from the Abrams Family Foundation helped secure the funding for a new framework expansion to the existing structure. Architect Larry N. Keith designed the facility, with construction led by local firm Perkins Carmack Construction LLC.

On November 30, the WJAA shared progress photos on Facebook, giving the community an early look at the project. Images suggest the facility will include a full-sized basketball court, as well as smaller rooms designated for storage and staff use.

In a statement shared online, the WJAA thanked the community for its support during construction.

“We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation during construction. Please continue to stay clear of the construction zone for your safety. We can’t wait to open the doors to our sports teams in the near future!”

While the indoor facility is not yet open for public use, the WJAA remains active throughout Clermont County. The organization continues to host youth- and family-focused events, including its popular Haunted Woods attraction in the fall, as well as volunteer programs.
