Geriatric Hair Care seeks volunteers

Ashley Warner, is the founder of The Geriatric Hair Care Organization, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to restoring dignity and promoting wellness through compassionate and professional hair care services for older adults and individuals with disabilities.

"My name is Ashley Warner, and I’m the founder of The Geriatric Hair Care Organization, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to restoring dignity and promoting wellness through compassionate and professional hair care services for older adults and individuals with disabilities.

Our Mission

We provide affordable and complementary haircuts, detangling, scalp treatments, and professional salon services to seniors in nursing homes, in-home hospice care, adult day programs, and hospitals for especially to those who cannot afford them. We believe that haircare is healthcare, and no one should be left without the comfort and confidence of feeling clean and cared for.

Our Vision

We aim to ensure no senior or healing patient is forgotten when it comes to their personal care. By expanding our partnerships with local hospitals, nursing homes, and hospice agencies, we hope to continue meeting people where they are whether in wheelchairs, hospital beds, or assisted living; offering gentle, respectful, and quality hair care services.

Our team uses high-end salon products specifically chosen to combat hair matting, psoriasis, cradle cap, and other scalp conditions commonly overlooked in medical environments. Every service is delivered with compassion, patience, and clinical-level awareness of physical and cognitive limitations.

How You Can Help

- A donation of just $25 provides a full haircut, scalp treatment, and style for someone who would otherwise go without.

- All donors and sponsors will be recognized on our website and social media platforms as valued partners in our mission.

- Volunteers to host fundraisers. 

- CPAs or financial professionals to help ensure our financial stability and transparency,

- Advocates to help us spread awareness in their networks and communities.

Your support helps us expand into more care facilities, train more geriatric hair care specialists, and ultimately reach more people who need our services the most. With public support and private donations, we’ve already begun working in several Ohio-based nursing homes and have formed partnerships with beauty schools to train the next generation of compassionate, skilled stylists.
